31 new COVID-19 positive cases recorded, total active cases 326

Meghalaya records 100 fresh COVID-19 cases, active cases rises to 363

SHILLONG, Jul 16: 31 new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded on Thursday  .

Health and family welfare minister , AL  Hek informed that out of the 31 new cases, the Border Security Force (BSF) recorded 26 new cases all in East Khasi Hills district from the armed forces 1 personnel in Ri-Bhoi district tested positive and there are 4 civilians (3 East Khasi Hills and 1 Ri-Bhoi).

Out 31 cases reported today  in East Khasi Hills, out of the three civilians, two were returnees from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh and another was an attendee at the orthopedic ward of North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).

The minister also informed that the total number of active cases in the state is 326, 49 has recovered (2 BSF personnel from Shillong), number of samples sent for testing is 25744, tests which yielded negative results is 24987, the results of samples awaited is 380.

Till Thursday afternoon, a total of 22105 stranded residents of the state has entered Meghalaya.
