Shillong, Oct 9: National People’s Party (NPP) leader and cabinet minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said that the NPP is extending full support to the UDP in the upcoming bye election to Shella constituency, and appealed to the people of Shella constituency to vote for Balajied Kupar Synrem, the son of late Donkupar Roy.
During the election campaign at Kalatek and Umkhabaw to drum up support for the UDP candidate, Dhar said, “It is not true that the NPP from behind is supporting other parties. The NPP is totally supporting the UDP.â€
He also expressed confidence that the UDP candidate will be able to retain the seat with the support of the people of Shella constituency.
The meeting was also attended by Assembly Speaker and UDP president, Metbah Lyngdoh, UDP associated member Samuel Sangma, Ranikor MLA, Pius Marweiñ, KHADC CEM Teiñwell Dkhar, UDP working president, Titosstarwell Chyne and others.
