Chief Minister Conrad Sangma heads GOM on exemption from GST to Covid materials

Shillong, May 29: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma will head the Group of Ministers (GOM) on concession/exemption from GST to Covid – 19 relief materials.

The selection was made by the Ministry of Finance during the 43rd meeting of the GST held on May 28.

The other members of the group are Nitinbhai Patel and Ajit Pawar, deputy chief ministers of Gujarat and Maharashtra respectively, Mauvin Godinho, Transport and Panchayati Raj Minister, in the Goa government, K. N. Balagopal, Kerala Finance Minister, Niranjan Pujari, Odisha Finance and Excise Minister, T. Harish Rao, Minister of Finance, Telangana and Suresh Kr. Khanna, Finance Minister of Uttar Pradesh as members.

The GOM will examine the need for GST concession and make recommendations on vaccines, drugs and medicine for Covid treatment, testing kits.
