Shillong, Jun 6: As part of the Meghalaya Environment Week Celebration a blood donation program was organized on June 6, by the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) in collaboration with the Regional Blood Centre Pasture institute.
The program was held at the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency office Nongrim Hills Shillong.
Since Meghalaya is ranked very low in voluntary blood donation, campaigns like these would be very beneficial in saving people’s lives ,as testified by the testimonies of many donors.
In particular Vivek Khongsti in his testimony after his blood donation said, “This blood donation campaign is part of the environment week celebration which is not only about saving the earth but also about saving the lives of the people in it. A humble initiative but a great start to commemorate the environment week celebration.â€
