Shillong, June 28: A 9-year old boy was kidnapped and murdered by his own brother-in-law and the body was recovered was from Laher village in West Karbi Anglong district in Assam.
West Jaiñtia Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem said that it was on June 26 afternoon, that the 9 years old boy, who was the resident of Umjalasiaw village was kidnapped by his brother-in-law, Shiningstar Pala, (19 years), a resident of Wahiajer village and the incident was reported to Saitsama outpost on June 27 morning.
On Wednesday, Syiem said that the boy was taken towards Karbi Anglong in Assam and the accused, Shiningstar Pala along with Pynchemi Phawa (26 years) of Wahiajer village and driver of the tourist cab (ML04 C 4532) were arrested.
On the leading of Shiningstar Pala, the dead body of the abducted child was recovered from Laher village in West Karbi Anglong on Thursday.
A knife (dao) used in the murder and another car used by the accused persons were seized.
Syiem said that Shiningstar Pala is the main accused who has several criminal cases and he committed the murder over a personal issue with his ex-wife, the sister of the boy.
The case was registered at Nartiang police station. The SP informed that investigation would be taken up vigorously to take the case to its logical conclusion.
