63 new COVID-19 positive cases detected in Meghalaya, 60 patients recovered from infection

Shillong, Aug 16: Meghalaya reported 63 new COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday, taking active cases to 693, while 60 patients have recovered from the viral infection, taking the recovery tally up to 655.

In West Garo Hills, 48 new cases were reported including 39 BSF troopers personnel and 09 civilians, and in Ri-Bhoi district nine civilians were tested positive and six new cases in East Khasi Hills district.

Sixty  patients have recovered from the COVID-19 on Sunday which include 01 civilian in West Jaiñtia Hills district, three in Ri Bhoi nine civilians,  and six civilians in East Khasi Hills district.

With 60 new recovery cases, the number of recoveries in the State went up to 655.

Five deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported so far.
