TURA, March 26 : Achik Youth Council (AYC) while expressing concern at the poor state of higher education in Garo Hills, mainly in the rural region, has sought the intervention of Meghalaya Government to reverse the situation.
AYC in a statement recently said that Garo Hills rural region has only two deficit colleges and three adhoc/government-aided ones, which are run mainly on fees collected from students. These colleges are located at Dalu, Ampati and New Bhaitbari, said AYC president Dimseng Marak.
