Shillong, May 28: The North Shillong Trinamool Congress Block Committee was constituted on Saturday.
During the meeting, Elgiva Gwyneth Rynjah was elected as the Block President.
The presence of youth and women in the respective wing formation was remarkable in numbers; hundreds were present making the event a huge success.
Leader of opposition, Dr. Mukul Sangma graced the stage during his address to the audience and expressed his vision of an evolved Meghalaya of people’s dreams.
Sangma stated that under AITC, everyone is a part of the great story of bringing transformative changes in the process of building the state.
He stressed on the masses integral involvement in the political system and urged them to take ownership of their state.*
The AITC leader further added that the state is governed by law and order; when people are not deterred by law and continue to engage in criminal activities, the betterment of the state is interrupted.
AITC MLA from Umroi, George B Lyngdoh put his faith in the party while addressing the audience.
Lyngdoh stated that the TMC has shown luminous governance for the past 13 years in Bengal.
“Irrespective of caste and creed, the party’s secular aims and equal governance would bring peace to the land of Meghalaya,†Lyngdoh said.
He added that the emblematic two grassroot flowers of the party symbolises the integrity and intention to uplift the downtrodden.
