Shillong, Oct 4:Â Deaths due to COVID-19 in Meghalaya have increased to 54 after four fresh deaths were reported, even as 200 new positive cases and 74 recoveries were recorded on Sunday.
The 200 new cases took the number of active cases to 2,209, and a total recovery of 4,393.
DHS (MI) Dr. Aman Warr informed that the new cases include 126 from East Khasi Hills district, 01 from North Garo Hills, 12 from West Garo Hills district, 44 from Ri Bhoi, 01 from South Garo Hills, 06 from South West Garo Hills, 02 from South West Khasi Hills and 08 from West Jaintia Hills district.
Among the 74 recoveries, 40 are from East Khasi Hills district, 08 from East Jaintia Hills 11, 04 from North Garo Hills, 02 from Ri-Bhoi district and 10 from West Garo Hills district.
Till date, Meghalaya has registered a total of 6,658 COVID 19 cases out of which, 2,209 Â are active, 54 deceased and 4,393 recoveries.
