BJP entrusts Madhav, Sarma to prepare plans for Assembly elections in Meghalaya

Shillong, Aug 8: The BJP has entrusted its national general secretary Ram Madhav and Assam BJP leader, Himanta Biswa Sarma to prepare plans for the Assembly election in Meghalaya to be held early next year.
This was informed by BJP national spokesperson, Nalin S. Kohli. Kohli, who is in-charge of the BJP in Meghalaya, arrived in the city on Tuesday.
Kohli accompanied BJP national general secretary (in-charge organization) Ram Lal, who is on a three-day visit to the city where he will hold meetings of the party’s organizational set up in the state for the 2018 Assembly election.
“The party is in close touch with BJP leaders like Ram Madhav and Himanta Biswa Sarma to prepare the party’s plans for the 2018 Assembly election in Meghalaya,” Kohli said.
Kohli also lambasted Chief Minister Dr.Mukul Sangma for failing to repair wooden bridges in Garo Hills using Central funds.
“If the Congress-led government could not use funds for building bridges, what bridges would the Chief Minister build with the voters of Meghalaya so late now?” Kohli asked
Expressing confidence about BJP’s preparations for the upcoming Assembly polls, and the kind of candidates it would put up for the elections, Kohli said, “the process to identify candidates is going on at different levels though the Central Election Committee will take a final call on the matter.”
